Wild herbs
Sea Kale
A robust plant on the beach with fleshy leaves. It likes the rugged beaches with rocks and wave splash. It blooms in large umbels in early summer. Its young leaves can be steamed and grilled and taste wonderful. Very young leaves can be finely sliced in salads. Grilled sea kale leaves with wild garlic is something I must have every year – it is so delicious.
